The introduction to aquatic invertebrates is described in Chapter 1. All animals other than the vertebrate members of the chordate phylum are referred to as invertebrate under the general term. The different marine invertebrates covered in Chapters 2ñ12 include protozoans, sponges, hydrostatic skeletons and cnidaria etc. The characteristics, categorization, and lifecycle of the aforementioned aquatic invertebrates are covered in chapters 2 through 12.
