Health psychology is the study of psychological and behavioral processes in health, illness, and healthcare. Mel Reed is Emeritus Professor of Psychometrics, and has worked extensively as a consultant in test construction. She has advanced the development of psychology as a quantitative behavioral science and made highly significant contributions to knowledge about psychological traits and the experiential and environmental influences on development. Mel Reed is the author or co¬author of over 221 peer-reviewed papers and publications, including eighteen textbooks and 12 law manuals. She is the president and co-founder of Applications of Psychology to Law. She has served as Associate Editor of the Psychologist, and Consulting Editor of four other academic journals. Reed is a past president of several organizations, including the American Psychological Association Division of Health Psychology and the Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research.
Bev Lloyd is a famous psychologist who has achieved a worldwide reputation as an authority on psychological testing, mainly the evaluation and interpretation of intelligence testing, culture-free testing, and the methodological problems of test development. She is noted for her proposed resolution of the long-standing nature-nurture controversy in psychology, stating that they are mutually influencing interactions. She was honored with the organization's Gold Medal Award. She has been awarded with the National Medal of Science in recognition of her numerous scientific achievements. Bev Lloyd is also a licensed psychologist and a licensed attorney. She is board certified in clinical psychology by the National Board of Professional Psychology.
